T.O. Dogswear was founded with a clear vision; produce functional dog clothing made for both the owner and the pet, with a focus on environmentally friendly and sustainable business practices. As wonderful as that all sounds, there is a bigger story behind the idea.

We are a family-run (mother-daughter duo) Canadian business that, simply put, just loves animals. We’ve always been pet owners and at our peak, had 5 dogs and 6 cats all living under the same roof as a family of 5 (needless to say, it got a little crowded sometimes). Now we have three small dogs at home, living in “the country” with muddy, dirt roads, a sandy beach, and forested trails. With daily dog walks and the aftermath cleanup we found ourselves quickly becoming overwhelmed at the time commitment; three dog baths sometimes twice a day or a filthy house really started to feel like a lose-lose situation.

As regular consumers in the pet clothing industry, we began searching endlessly for a solution, but quickly realized how difficult it was to find dog coats that our little ones would be able to walk in, and that would keep them clean and dry. They say necessity is the mother of invention and in this case, that statement couldn’t be more true – so the Belly Bib was born.

Having little to no experience in this industry definitely proved to be challenging at first, but we were so passionate and determined to share our idea and product with like-minded dog owners that we forged ahead and eventually made it to where we are now; a company that we are proud to share with families and pet owners like us.

It’s hard to beat our love for animals, but doing our part for the environment comes in a close second. We consciously run an eco-friendly, sustainable business in the hopes that our small impact can help others see how easy it is to make a change for the better. T.O. Dogswear uses the best in eco-friendly fabrics and all of our products are manufactured in Canada to show our growing commitment to the environment and local businesses like ours.
